Spellwell is being built towards WCAG 2.2 AA. This is a design target, not a claim of audited conformance.

Keyboard and touch

Use a keyboard to navigate the page and type answers. Letter tiles can be selected with a click, tap or keyboard; dragging is not required. Controls have visible focus indicators and text labels.

No rush

Practice has no mandatory time limit. We avoid flashing content, automatic sound and large animated rewards. Messages use words as well as colour.

Alternatives

Handwriting can be done on paper alongside the reveal-and-check steps. Visual activities work when a local speech voice is unavailable. Teachers can print an A4 sheet of branded QR labels for pupils’ books.

We continue to test Spellwell on real devices and with assistive technology. If something makes Spellwell difficult to use, contact us at support@spellwell.uk. It helps to know which page, device and browser you were using. Please don’t include sensitive pupil information.
